Illustration Project

The Objective:

To illustrate a set of portraits for our team that could be used across the website and social media assets.

What was delivered:

Individual portraits of each team member.
A unique colour palette assigned to the project.
Maintained a cohesive style throughout using the brands colour palette and style of illustration.
A variety of formats for the illustrations to be used across digital and print.

Creative Process:

Researched existing ‘meet the team’ pages to see what was out there. Agreed that illustrating each member in a fun, portraiture style would definitely stand out and emphasised the friendly and approachable identity of the brand.
Looked at different styles of illustrations, chose to keep them fairly realistic to ensure the team were still identifiable.
The colours chosen were vibrant, so I wanted them to play a big part in the illustrations. I used them in an unconventional way (unnatural hair colours, bright backgrounds).

Results:

We ended up with a set of vibrant portraits of the team that worked well across all desired platforms, even posters in the office. The fun style of portraits definitely had the desired effect on the clients and we saw a rise in enquiries (especially for portraits for their own ‘meet the team’ pages).

Conclusion:

A project that allowed me to work in an artistic way that I love as I have a passion for portraiture outside of work, and was delighted to make people feel special with my work.
