Cooperate Islington
Branding Project
The Objective:
To develop the branding behind Outlandish’s new funded project ‘Cooperate Islington’.

What was delivered:
-
A logo created from the map of Islington, altered into a unique letter mark. It was essential that the logo could be used in a range of ways, and be recognisable after seeing it for the first time.
-
A colour palette picked from photography around the area. With a balance between naturally occurring colours and more vibrant ones to tie in the excitement around the project.
-
Different examples of how to display the logo creatively and maximise its usage.
-
Designed a set of social media assets that can be used and edited when necessary.
Creative Process:
-
Spent time researching the local area, making sure to get a true feel for what kind of brand would fit. Islington is a multicultural area with so many different people living there and passing through that I wanted this to be reflected in the brand.
-
A mood board was created with a range of colours I had selected, ideas for logos and imagery that the team was able to assess.
-
Using Procreate and Illustrator I was able to develop the final logo, and exported the files for the clients to use.
-
The client was happy to use canva and Adobe XD for the social media assets and I saved them as artboards (allowed other designers to export in their desired format).
Results:
I was able to create a tailored brand identity for a project that would mean a lot to the community. I felt it truly reflected their work and commitment to positive change.
Conclusion:
This was a great project to work on, the freedom to choose the colours and create the logo gave me free reign to express my creativity. I felt honoured to be trusted in making the final decisions on different areas of the branding.
